New IBM/Linux PDA

February 20th, 2003 | by Tony Steidler-Dennison |

Geek.com is reporting that the new IBM PDA will use the Linux-based Qtopia desktop.

“This is a huge step forwards for the mobile systems market and embedded Linux,” said Haavard Nordm, CEO of Trolltech (maker of Qtopia). “Together with Qtopia, IBM’s reference platform opens the door for a whole new generation of embedded Linux devices designed from the ground up for an increasingly mobile workforce.”

With IBM moving into the Linux PDA arena, consumers will certainly have a better set of choices.
