Ben’s Lament

Unfortunately, Ben’s lament on Sunday and the follow-up events of Monday in Iraq prove that technology doesn’t necessarily make victors. I’ll skip right past my initial reponse to his comments, though I’ll say I thought it was a bit knee-jerk. Sadly, it seems that the Americans are not the only fallible force in the Gulf. In any event, our thoughts are with the Brits and their families as much as they’re with our own. Friendly-fire incidents are especially tough to take and, in the end, just underscore the dangers of war.
