Cult O’ Dave
June 15th, 2003 | by Tony Steidler-Dennison |I’ll admit it. I used to read Winer on a regular basis. Before I read the blogs of others who carry on conversations rather than snipe, I even thought Dave had a real answer or two. No more.
When Blogger and MT reinvented RSS, and had the audacity to call it RSS (man that is nasty), you gotta wonder why they did it. I don’t know. The only reason that makes sense to me is that they want to keep data interchange a dark art, understood only by a few, and widely considered impossible. That’s probably not the reason. As some wise man once said, never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence. Either way, it’s bad.
It’s funny that Dave expects everyone to comply to standards, but steadfastly refuses to discuss any standards but his own. He’s such a genius, apparently, that if you disagree, you’re just incompetent. How charming. Comply with the cult of Dave, or live your life as an idiot.
