Sharper Focus

June 17th, 2003 | by Tony Steidler-Dennison |

Both The Register and the New York Times are reporting that Linus will leave Transmeta on July 1 to focus full-time on the Linux kernel. He’ll be working for the non-profit Open Source Development Lab. Though he’s apparently beeen given free reign at Transmeta to continue kernel development, moving back to the daily duties full time should certainly help to keep Linux moving forward.

Yeah, it’s a good thing Linus can go full-time on the Kernel project. Here’s hoping to a better (and sooner) 2.6!
