Right On Track

October 7th, 2005 | by Tony Steidler-Dennison |

The Cardinals seem to be right on track to win the NLDS series with the Padres. The relative lack of offense is a bit troubling, but they managed to manufacture runs in last night’s win, and to capitalize on the mistakes of the Padres. It almost seemed that mentally, Mark Mulder got sharper after being hit in the left bicep by a line shot from Joe Randa. His pitching certainly didn’t suffer from it - though I imagine he’s sore as hell today.

Aside from the Padres, the only other team facing imminent elimination is Boston. By Tuesday, we’ll have the League Championship Series teams - probably as follows: Houston vs. St. Louis and New York vs. Chicago.
