The Maverick Being a Maverick

I love this …

Blog Maverick - www.blogmaverick.com _

Last night in the locker room after we lost in overtime to the heat. I was asked by reporters to answer some questions. I told them i would if they asked good questions and didnt ask the same cliche’d questions they had asked after other games. It was interesting how quiet everyone got.

then someone asked “Is this your worst loss ever” . What the fuck kind of question is that ? Is this for a VH1 special ? “Worst Losses Ever ?” If it was, then maybe it was a decent question. Otherwise, how do you answer that question…

His response? “Ask me a real fucking question.”

Right on. The media can be such lazy idiots.

The sports owners we have in Dallas are amazing: Jerry Jones and Mark Cuban. The guys care so much about their teams. Needless to say, we also get some crazy sound bites.

I lived in Dallas when Jerry Jones took over the team. The attitude toward him was quite different when he fired Tom Landry and, later, Tex Schram. While I’ve been a lifelong Cowboys fan, I don’t have any real love for Jones. I do, on the other hand, very much admire Mark Cuban.

What I respect about both owners is that they truly want their teams to win.

Being a Cubs/Bears/Bulls fan I haven’t seen that with those teams/owners for a long time.
