Site Update
November 15th, 2007 | by Tony Steidler-Dennison |Functionally, I’ve finished the update of the site. The theme is in place, posting works, all the plugins are good. But I’m a bit stuck on one point.
Even though I have a full backup of the previous versions of the site, I haven’t installed it. It seems like this might be a good time to make a fresh start on the site. That’s for quite a few reasons. The primary reasons are that a) the last update completely broke the categories and, with more than 4,000 entries, it’s just too tough to backfill entry by entry, and b) the database is huge and, frankly, quite a mess.
Rather than importing all the entries back into the new version of the site, I think I’d prefer to add selected archival entries that are of real interest. What do you think? Are there posts from the past five years you’d like to see in this version?
