While purely procedural designs without much modularity run just fine, the advantages of OO design show up in the maintenance. Because a typical application will spend the bulk of its lifetime in maintenance, code maintenance is a large expense over the lifetime of an application. It can also be easily forgotten during development. If you're in a race to get your application developed and deployed, long-term maintainability can take a back seat to getting something to work.

Smart video collections keep appearing on YouTube. But rather antithetical to the ethos of its parent company (Google), YouTube unfortunately makes these collections difficult to find. So we’ve decided to do the job for them. These enriching/educational videos come from media outlets, cultural institutions, universities and non-profits. There are about 70 collections in total, and the list will grow over time.

WOW! Finally, some decent video quality. I’ve only just checked out the Monty Python stuff, and am SO impressed. SO disgusted with all the poo on youtube “regular”. Was this stuff done with the Flip4Mac Episode encoding software. I would seriously love to know the details.
