My Other Web Projects
Admittedly, my other web projects are pretty slim right now. These are the other projects I maintain or contribute to regularly.
Political Snapshot - A site with a decidedly similar look and feel to A Penguin in the Orchard, but a completely different view on the world. This is where I keep up to date and, occasionally, expound on the world of politics. It’s another passion I’ve held my entire adult life. I tend to watch presidential debates with more interest than I watch the Super Bowl. Though I lean to the left, I always welcome comment and discussion from all pieces of the political spectrum.
The Roadhouse Podcast - A weekly hour of “the finest blues you’ve never heard.” Really. The Roadhouse has been available since February 2005. It was one of the first blues podcasts, and the first podcast-only show to secure permissions from several major blues labels. It’s a real labor of love, sharing a musical genre that’s been a constant in my life since I was 11 years old. Listen on the site, or subscribe here.
GeekTimeLinux - Okay, so I don’t contribute a lot here, anymore. But, it’s a family site in the most literal sense. My Dad is your host on GTL. As my interest has moved a bit away from Linux and more to the Mac universe, I’ve contributed less. But, I still do the occasional how-to piece on GTL. All in all, it’s a great place to get your Linux news, day in and day out.
Demwire - Demwire follows on with my love of politics. It’s a new site with a Digg model, designed to measure the pulse of Democratic politics. When a good friend with whom I worked for a former presidential candidate asked if I’d contribute, I was only too happy. Visit, contribute and vote.
Newsvine - A smart and very busy news site. You really have to visit to understand: it almost defies explanation. I do maintain a personal column page there, as well, but spend more time commenting and adding to various and sundry writing projects.
